August 9. Near Tour, France.
Hi folks,
Yesterday I talked about this being the most incredible biking experience of all time. I really mean it–start planning for next summer; take two or three weeks off and come experience this adventure!
Today was an incredible day biking! I was a bit harder, owing to some hills, but I still managed to get 80 Km in. The hills were all on account of wanting to loop the bike path through a series of ancient dwelling that were built directly into a mountain. The French word for this is similar to our word “troglodyte.”

1200 year old houses built into a mountain
I spent much of today cycling with a fellow I met who is from Paris; a very nice person. Here is a picture of Guillaume and myself having a cup of Ozo’s coffee to start the day.

Ozos coffee being shared at breakfast.
Lots of stunning scenery today, but otherwise uneventful:

Endless miles of vineyards

A random house

The path near the river

More riverside biking
Tomorrow I am going to cycle to a coffee shop somewhere and spend the day working.
Later!
Scott
Livin’ the dream! Happy for you, my friend.
So glad the stresses of Spain are behind you. Please look up one of the astronauts if you can spare the time. Do you still have the contact info?
